TEG: a holding company for its regulated utility and non-regulated business units. As of December 31, 2008, the Company served approximately 487,500 regulated electric utility customers and approximately 1,669,900 regulated natural gas utility customers. The Company operates in four segments: natural gas utility segment, electric utility segment, Integrys Energy Services, and the Holding Company and Other Segment.

UTL: a public utility holding company. Unitil's principal business is the retail distribution of both electricity and natural gas in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, and the retail distribution of natural gas in Maine. Unitil has three retail distribution utility subsidiaries: Unitil Energy Systems, Inc., Fitchburg Gas and Electric Light Company, and Northern Utilities, Inc. (Northern). Unitil's retail distribution utilities serve approximately 170,000 customers in their franchise areas. Granite State Gas Transmission, Inc. (Granite State), an interstate natural gas transmission pipeline company, was acquired by Unitil, along with Northern, from NiSource Inc. in December 2008.

NI: an energy holding company whose subsidiaries provide natural gas, electricity, and other products and services to approximately 3.8 million customers located within a corridor that runs from the Gulf Coast through the Midwest to New England. NiSource's principal subsidiaries include Columbia Energy Group (Columbia), a vertically-integrated natural gas distribution, transmission and storage holding company whose subsidiaries provide service to customers in the Midwest, the Mid-Atlantic and the Northeast; Northern Indiana Public Service Company (Northern Indiana), a vertically-integrated gas and electric company providing service to customers in northern Indiana, and Bay State Gas Company (Bay State), a natural gas distribution company serving customers in Massachusetts.
